Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 2006788.1 : Informational: ACMEPACKET# Set-system-state Offline
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-10609698341> Applies to:Acme Packet 3820 - Version S-Cx6.4.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalIs the use of set-system-state offline required when powering down an SBC? SolutionThe use of that setting may be desirable in the case of hardware maintenance, upgrade, or data center maintenance activities but it is not required. If you were to shutdown and unplug the SBC, the HA cluster (when properly configured) will failover to the second SBC which will keep serving traffic. The offline setting puts the Oracle Communications Session Border Controller into a state where it is powered on and available for administrative purposes, but does not accept calls. Existing calls in progress are not affected. You may want to use this when decommissioning an entire HA cluster or prior to a maintenance window in order to decrease the number of active calls on the system. The set-system-state command is documented in the Oracle Communications Session Border Controller ACLI Reference Guide.
