Goal

What microcode level is required for a VLE running with ELS 7.3?

Solution

When all hosts are running ELS 7.3 on an I level CDS and 32GB VTVs will be created, the VLE microcode needs to be 1.5.1 or higher. If the microcode is not at the proper level, the following message will be issued:

SLS7551W STORMNGR vle_stormngr does not support VTVs greater than 4GB, global MAXVTVSZ set to 4000

For H level CDS or below, ELS 7.3 requires any VLE to be at microcode level 1.4.2 patch A3 or higher.
