Goal

What are the requirements for VTCS to create 32GB VTVs?

Solution

The ability to create 32GB VTVs requires the following:

ELS 7.3 running on all hosts
PTFs L1H18CX and L1H18FH applied to all hosts
The CDS at the 'I' level
VSM6 running microcode 6.2.0.05.000 or higher
VLE (if used) running microcode 1.5.1 or higher

To implement this larger VTV size in VTCS requires either setting up a new MGMTCLAS, or editing an existing MGMTCLAS, to specify MAXVTVSZ(32000). This will automatically use a VTVPAGE of LARGE so no changes will be needed to the CONFIG GLOBAL VTVPAGE setting.
