Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1998248.1 : Oracle Key Manager (OKM) - 9840D Tape Drives Hit 10 Second Timeout And Fail To Get Key From KMA's
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-10194916351> Applies to:Oracle Key Manager - Version 2.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalIn Oracle Key Manager (OKM) environments with 9840D tape drives, there have been a variety of failover related issues where tape drives will not receive keys from KMA's within a cluster. This has been observed when new KMA's are added to the cluster, the 9840D drives will hit the 10 second timeout and not failover to receive keys from the newly added KMA's. SolutionThis issue is only observed with 9840D drive code below 1.47.702. The recommendation is to upgrade the 9840D drive code to 1.47.702 within OKM environments, the 10 second timeout has been removed in the 1.47.702 version of the code. It is highly recommended to upgrade the 9840D code to 1.47.702 prior to any major Oracle Key Manager migrations or reconfigurations. For example, if the site plans on joining a new KMA into an existing KMA cluster, the 9840D drive code should be upgraded to 1.47.702 prior to adding the new KMA. Oracle's Master Service Agreement requires that customers keep hardware and software maintenance levels at current levels. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
