In this Document
Applies to:StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions and laterLTO Tape Drive - Version All Versions and later Information in this document applies to any platform. I have a SL150 with FC drives attached directly to a host, the topology for the drives is Fabric Loop, do I have to change them to point-to-point? Drives are direct connected to the server. They do not pass through a switch. GoalHow to Set Drives From Public (Fabric) to Point to Point. SolutionIf a library or drive are directly connected to a host, Point to Point would be the recommended setting. Not all HBA's support a fabric or public connection. NOTE: Point to point only works on HP drives. IBM drives do not have this option. This would be set via the "Drives" menu from the Web GUI. The update can be done through the Admin login. By setting the "Port Hard Addressing" to "Yes" the drive will be forced Point to Point. Note: The library/drives do NOT need to be rebooted. It is recommended the server be rebooted because the are changing how the drive is talking to the HBA. Note: The customer has changed the topology of their drives, they may need to delete the library from their device manager and reinstall it. Once this has been completed, refer to the following KB to set up the HBA topology to point to point. SL150/LTO6 - 16G FC Point to Point, Direct Attach SL150 and LTO6 FC drives in association with the Oracle/SUN X5-2 systems. (Doc ID 2003985.1) This KB is for Qlogic HBA. Should you have Emulex or other branded HBA, similar actions will need to be done to set point to point. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
