Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document describes the steps to download and install the Oracle FSCLI software.

Solution

Note: If the Oracle FSCLI software is installed on a local workstation that is outside a firewall that includes the Oracle Flash Storage System, please ensure that TCP port 8083 is open. If TCP port 8083 is not open, TCP/IP traffic is not blocked between the local workstation and the Pilot. It is necessary to download and extract a platform-specific Oracle FSCLI archive file (tar or ZIP) before you can install the Oracle FSCLI software. For optimal performance , install the Oracle FSCLI only on a local disk drive. Issuing commands from Oracle FSCLI on a remote, network-mounted filesystem can cause significant performance issues.

  1. On a local workstation, browse to the location where you want to install the Oracle FSCLI (for example on Windows, C:\ or C:\Program Files).

  2. Create a subfolder for the Oracle FSCLI software. For Windows, create a fscli folder such as C:\fscli.

  3. Browse to the Management IP of the Oracle Flash Storage System (or to the system name) to download the Oracle FSCLI archive file (tar or ZIP) from Management Software > Oracle Command Line Interface.

  4. Using a platform-specific extraction tool, extract the downloaded Oracle FSCLI archive file in C:\fscli.

  5. Open a command line prompt to access the FSCLI application (example for Windows "fscli.exe").

Note: The Oracle FSCLI Reference documentation is available in the Documents section of the browser screen shown in Step 3.
