A Customer may have a Sun SPARC M-Series server and realize that there is a USB port on the XSCF or system controller unit. The question often asked is if one can copy data from one of the Solaris domain's filesystem to the XSCF USB drive.

Goal

An XSCF user wants to know if they can mount a USB flashdrive to the USB port on the XSCF,
to copy data from a Solaris domain?

Solution

The answer is no. The USB port on the XSCF is for gathering an XSCF snapshot , XSCF log information,
or loading XCP firmware on the XSCF.  This USB port is ONLY for use with the XSCF itself, and cannot be shared with the
Solaris domain(s) on the Mx000 server line or any external source.
