Goal

How do you increase the session lifetime from the default level?

Solution

  1. From the NSP Dashboard, go to "Centralized Configuration".
  2. Next, click Mediation.
  3. Click the + Under Sites > Hostname > IXP > Sessions
  4. Now a list of all sessions that are configured is displayed. Click the check box for the Reconstitution Session the Session Lifetime needs to be increased (72 Hours is default setting).
  5. Once the session is checked, click on the icon that has the pencil and paper on upper toolbar.
  6. Modify the Lifetime Hours from 72 to 168 to store 1 weeks worth of xDR's. Once changed, click Modify. "Apply Changes" banner will be displayed.
Please note that the DIH does not have a lot of space, and the session lifetimes should not exceed 1 week for this reason.
  7. Apply change:
Spill out the IXP and Right Click your mouse on the Hostname Link to get the menu to "Apply Changes".
  8. Click "Next" > "Apply Changes". After a successful save, you should see a Message stating "Successfully Applied Changes".
