Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document provides a convenient way to obtain software and firmware updates, sometimes called code upgrades, for the Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System.

Customers can also locate software and firmware updates using the Patches & Updates tab in My Oracle Support. To learn how, refer to Document 1968540.1 FS System: How to Find Software/Firmware Patches for the Oracle FS1-2 System in My Oracle Support.

Be sure to also review the README file which accompanies each patch download for special instructions and information about known issues and fixes. For detailed guidance to perform updates, refer to Document 1968129.1 FS System: FS1-2 Upgrade R6.x to R6.x Procedures.

NOTE:
If your FS1-2 is currently on release 6.1.x you MUST upgrade to 6.2.3 successfully BEFORE upgrading to any higher release.
If your FS1-2 is currently on a release from 6.2.0 to 6.2.8 you MUST upgrade to 6.2.9 successfully BEFORE upgrading to any higher release.
If your FS1-2 is currently on release 6.2.9 you may upgrade to any higher release.

Release 6.2.3 and 6.2.9 are not the current recommended releases. These older releases are available for systems that require to upgrade to these releases before upgrading to the current recommended release 6.2.16

Please read the Upgrade Instructions Prerequisites in the README for the corresponding Patch before upgrading your FS1-2 to determine if your system requires a disruptive upgrade or not. If there are any questions please contact Oracle Support.

NOTE: Due to the number of bugs fixed in the latest release, customers requesting root cause analysis (RCA) for problems encountered running versions below 6.2.3 will be asked to upgrade to the latest release.
