Applies to:

Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version EMS 43.x to EMS 44.x [Release EMS 43.0 to EMS 44.0]
Tekelec

Goal

STP alarms are not extending to the EMS Server.

Solution

Login to EMS and try to Ping the IPSM card of the STP.
If the ping is unsuccessful; it means that there is no connectivity between Eagle and EMS.

On Eagle side; Use Pass command to test ping command for EMS IP from IPSM card.

Example:

Kindly see traceroute result below and check the IP network in between to make the connectivity up.
Once it is up; the alarms will start flowing.

EMS [netboss]/u01/app/netboss/sga/datafiles% ping <IP of Eagle IPSM>
no answer from xxx.xx.x.xx
EMS [netboss]/u01/app/netboss/sga/datafiles% traceroute <IP of Eagle IPSM>
traceroute to xx.xx.x.x (xx.xx.x.x), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 xx.xx.x.x (xx.xx.x.x) 0.680 ms 0.521 ms 0.449 ms
2 xx.xx.x.x (xx.xx.x.x) 2.068 ms 2.062 ms 1.999 ms
