Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1962166.1 : How to set a Sun Network Switch (ES1-24 or 72P) to factory defaults
In this Document
Applies to:Oracle Switch ES1-24 - Version All Versions and laterSun Blade 6000 10GbE Switched 24p NEM - Version Not Applicable and later Sun Network Switch - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalSteps to configure a Sun Ethernet switch SEFOS setup to the factory default. SolutionFrom the SEFOS CLI run the command erase startup (not saving the configuration). Then drop back to the ILOM prompt and stop and start sefos. SEFOS# show running-configuration
... (copy and paste this output to a text editor and save as text in case you want to refer to it later on) SEFOS# erase startup-config SEFOS# exit Connection closed by foreign host. cd: The session with /SYS/fs_cli has ended. -> stop /SYS/sefos Are you sure you want to stop /SYS/sefos (y/n)? y stop: SEFOS stopped successfully. -> start /SYS/sefos Are you sure you want to start /SYS/sefos (y/n)? y start: Please wait while sefos comes up, this can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the configuration .................. start: SEFOS started successfully. SEFOS# show running-configuration ... (the output should show factory default settings only) This should now display the factory default SEFOS configuration. Note: The steps above will not reset the ILOM settings .
To reset everything, including the ILOM config, use "set /SP reset_to_defaults=all" from the ILOM prompt. This will also reset the network settings to the default dhcp. A serial console will be needed or if the DHCP server assigns the same IP for the switch mgmt-mac-address then it will get configured.
