This document describes the steps to perform an EMS backup.

Solution

EMS BACKUP PROCEDURE & VERIFICATION

Establish an SSH connection and login to EMS Server as “netboss”

login as: netboss
Using keyboard-interactive authentication.

Issue the commands to export the contents of the Netboss database to the $ANMDIR/fms/dbunload/export.exp file
hostname[netboss]/app/netboss/misc% $ANMDIR/misc/db_backup

Performing Database Backup...
Backup Finished.
View /tmp/db_backup.out for details.

3.

List the contents of the fms/dbunload directory to verify the export.exp file is present and the creation date is expected.
hostname[netboss]/app/netboss/misc% cd $ANMDIR/fms/dbunload
hostname[netboss]/u01/app/netboss/fms/dbunload% ls –l
total 27168
-rw-r--r-- 1 netboss netboss 13900800 Sep 17 00:30 export.exp
