Goal

How to Verify Power is Available to CAPs (Cartridge Access Port).

Solution

Power to the CAPs is divided between left and right sides. Two LEDs on the PUW indicate whether power is available for each side. The split view show below is that of the PUW card as depicted from the rear of the card. Normally, service personnel would be looking at these LEDs from the other direction.

 PUW LEDs

The two LEDs indicate the status of three fused 48V connections on J319. If the CAPs/PUZ have no power, this is a way of verifying that the fuse is good. One for the left side and one for the right side CAPs.
