Goal

Provide instructions on how to run ClearFailureHist in R4 and R5 before doing slammer recovery or slammer components replacement such as replacing the motherboard, PIM (Private Interface Management) or NIM (Network Interface Management).

Solution

IMPORTANT: The attached utility has been tested to work under certain conditions but may have negative effects if improperly used. Customers should only used it under the direct supervision of Oracle Support.

In AxiomOne Release 04.xx.xx

  1. ClearFailureHist.exe  (Windows based executable attached)

Run ClearFailureHist.exe from the command prompt.
When prompted, enter the shared IP address of the Pilot.

  2. If a Windows platform is not available or there are other restrictions forbidding the download of such utilities, contact Oracle Support for further assistance.

To recover the Slammer, use the support user account of pillar and the supporttool utility.  Instructions on how to download the supporttool utility can be found in <Document 1510401.1> Pillar Axiom: How to Download the Supporttool, AxiomCLI and pdscli Command Line Utilities.

    Command syntax: supporttool sub -u pillar -H <sharred_IP_of_Axiom> <command>

    Example:
    supporttool sub -u pillar -H <axiom_ip_address> ReenableAllSlammers
    supporttool sub -u pillar -H <axiom_ip_address> SetAgentHA Flags=4
    supporttool sub -u pillar -H <axiom_ip_address> ReenableAllRAIDControllers

In AxiomOne Release 05.xx.xx

  1.  ClearFailureHist_R5.exe (Windows based executable attached)

Run ClearFailureHist_R5.exe from the command prompt or double click on ClearFailureHist_R5.exe icon
When prompted, enter the shared IP address of the Pilot and click on OK.

  2. If a Windows platform is not available or there are other restrictions forbidding the download of such utilities, contact Oracle Support for further assistance.

AxiomCLI Utility can be used but requires the support account pillar:

axiomcli login -u pillar -p [pillar password] IP address
    axiomcli slammer -reenable
    axiomcli slammer -modifyAgentHaFlags -clearWsCounter
    axiomcli slammer -modifyAgentHaFlags -clearFlags
    axiomcli logout
