Oracle Key Manager - Version 2.5.2 to 2.5.2 [Release 2.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The OKM 2.5.3 GUI Windows patch has these two installer files:
OKMManager_windows_2_5_3_without_JVM.exe
OKMManager_windows_2_5_3_with_JVM.exe
Which one do I install?
Solution
o If your system does not have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed on it,
then you should launch the installer that includes a JVM
(i.e., OKMManager_windows_2_5_3_with_JVM.exe).
o If your system already has a JVM, then you can launch the installer that does not includes a JVM
(i.e. OKMManager_windows_2_5_3_without_JVM.exe).
o If you launch an installer without a JVM and your system does not have a JVM installed on it,
then you need to install a Java 1.5 (or later) Virtual Machine before you can invoke this installer.
You can download one from Oracle's Java Download web site
Note:
JVM is part of JRE. It becomes active if you invoke the java command ( or java.exe )
Thus, you can issue the command 'java -version' on the command prompt and it will also
let you know what JRE version is installed:
For example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin>java -version
java version "1.7.0_67"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_67-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode, sharing)
