Goal

We are trying to figure out if there is a way to increase the information transfer rate in the bearer capability of the Q.931 messages when placing a SIP to H323 call using IWF. The default value is currently set to 64 kbit/s and we would like to increase this to at least 512 kbit/s.

Solution

There is a h323-stack option parameter "videoBearerCapability=value" (value is bandwidth require for the end-point to setup the video call) that can be set on the egress h323-stack to send enough bandwidth for the call. Adding an option "videoBearerCapability" in egress h323-stack to set bearerCapability for IWF case, when SD gerenrates a setup message. It only applies if any video in incoming INVITE message having video codec.
Please note that the availability of the options under h323-stack is version dependent, please check under your configuration if the "session-router">"h323">"h323-stacks" you have a parameter "options". If so then you could edit the particular h323-stack with adding (for i.e. having the rate set to 512):
sbc(h323-stack)# options +videoBearerCapability=512
