Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1946571.1 : FS System: How to Remove and Replace a Power Supply in an FS1-2 Controller
Instructions on how to replace Controller Power Supply. In this Document
Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Oracle FS1-2 Cloud System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalThe purpose of this document is to outline the steps required to replace an FS1-2 Controller Power Supply Unit (PSU) using the Guided Maintenance.
SolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS What: A Controller Power Supply in an FS1-2 has failed and needs to be replaced. Where: FS1-2 Controller Power Supply location should be in event log and System Alerts. Why: The Power Supply Cooling fan and/or the Power Supply itself has failed. The redundant Power Supply (PS0 or PS1) must be healthy in order to replace this component without disruption. NOTE: If you are replacing the lower Power Supply (PS0), disconnect the Cable Management Arm (CMA) to allow easier removal of the failed component. See FS1-2 Field Service Guide for details.
NOTE: Please review the Knowledge <Document 1942676.1> FS System: How to Disable Call Home to Prevent Automatic Service Request ASR Generation before proceeding with the procedure below. The steps contained therein are provided to allow an Administrator to de-activate a particular ASR enabled array while performing maintenance or troubleshooting. This will prevent any additional Service Requests from being created unnecessarily.
NOTE: The only valid part numbers for this activity are 7065505 or 7336220. Do not substitute any other part from the Netra Server X3-2 parts list as it will not have the necessary modifications to make it compatible with the NVDIMM/ESM configuration used in the FS1-2 Controller.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:
Confirm that the replacement Power Supply was successful - the System Alert associated with it should be gone and the FS1-2 should be normal/green. From the Oracle Help Center: http://docs.oracle.com/en/storage/#fla select the Oracle Flash System Documentation Library for more information. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
