Goal
If it is necessary to restart an IMF server, this document describes the needed steps.
Solution
- Loging as root user to IMF server from Putty.
- Login to different PIC server(xMF/IXP/NSP) and execute the command
-
ping IMF_SERVER_IP_ADDRES
- Execute the command
service TKLCmf stop
Once IMF application stop gracefully ,exit from putty.
- To provide power cycle to IMF, we have three option:
- An onsite person will press power switch or
- Execute the command shutdown –r now from putty and IMF server will go for reboot or
- Press power switch from ilo
- Once fan, available in the backside of IMF, stop or after 5-10 minutes, perform following steps:
- onsite person will press power switch to power on the server or
- If shutdown –r now was executed then no further action is required or
- Press power switch from ilo.
- Check the output of ping response on other server . If you are getting output below in ping response, try to ssh IMF.
64 bytes from IMF_SERVER_IP_ADDRES: icmp_seq=1 ttl=55 time=1.97 ms
64 bytes from IMF_SERVER_IP_ADDRES: icmp_seq=2 ttl=55 time=2.01 ms
64 bytes from IMF_SERVER_IP_ADDRES: icmp_seq=3 ttl=55 time=2.00 ms
64 bytes from IMF_SERVER_IP_ADDRES: icmp_seq=4 ttl=55 time=2.20 ms
-
Once IMF is accessible, login IMF and do health check of server.
Note: If IMF server will not be accessible after performing above steps then we might need ilo and onsite person with laptop and console cable for further troubleshooting.
