Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1938101.1 : How Are Filters Applied In BI Mobile Apps When Drilling Down Or Drilling Up?
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-9540423469> Applies to:Exalytics In-Memory Machine X2-4 - Version All Versions and laterBusiness Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.1.7.131017 and later Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalWhen using the Oracle BI Mobile App Designer to create your own app, if you apply a filter after drilling down on a report, should that filter be applied when you click on the back button to drill up? For example, on an iPad Mini, successfully drill through a series of reports until reaching the lowest level in the chain. As this point, click on a filter, which correctly displays the report for that one dimension value, instead of the total for the dimension. Next, click on the 'back' button to drill up to the previous report. The previous report displays correctly, however, it displays data for the total dimension, and not just for the one filtered dimension value. The expectation was that when drilling up, the higher level reports would be filtered by the selected dimension value. SolutionThe behavior seen in the example above is correct. By design, when a filter is applied in a sub-page (after drill down), it should be in effect only on that one sub-page, and should not be applied in the main page (drill up).
