Goal
VLE Configuring the MVS Host Software for VLE 1.2 manual shows three modes: Toleration, Exploitation and Acceleration
Please explain the three modes listed in the VLE 1.2 manual titled VLE Configuring the MVS Host Software for VLE 1.2.
Solution
Toleration - The VLE supports VLE to VLE copy and multiple nodes but VTCS does not. (e.g. you have a VLE 1.1 or 1.2 but don't have the support PTFs)
Exploitation - VTCS supports VLE to VLE copy and multiple nodes. It tries to balance MVC storage allocation across the nodes and uses a VLE for sourcing VTV copies for migrates.
Acceleration - ADS mode is switched on in VTCS. Hence more concurrent migrates are possible. This is only possible in ELS V7.1.
Note that with VLE 1.3 and higher the Toleration, Exploitation, Acceleration mode terminology has been removed and only 2 modes are supported:
CONFIG TAPEPLEX STORMNGR (formerly known as Toleration mode)
and
CONFIG STORMNGR statement with the VLEDEV parameter (formerly known as Acceleration mode)
