Goal
FRS-4.31 Code Released
Solution
SL3000 FRS-4.31 code was released and is now posted on the SAC ( https://sac.us.oracle.com/download/index.html ). This version fixes the ADI issues, noted in the previous message, pasted below for reference. Customer facing release notes were also posted to the Oracle documents site. Internal release notes are attached.
Previous Message -
FRS-4.30 Code Released - Removed "IBM only" reference. All ADI is affected. SL3000 FRS-4.30 code is now available on the SAC. This version offers bug fixes, increased logging, port bonding (use both LANs in RE), default capacity options and media validation among other enhancements.
However, due to some issues with ADI mode, only install this code at this time if you need media validation support. Continue to use FRS-4.0 for now (4.02 if AEMs are installed). Do not install this code if IBM ADI mode is being used. Additional direction from engineering will be available soon. For additional information and guidance contact the TSC. Reference Doc ID 1913171.1 for additional details.
Some enhancements of FRS-4.31 over FRS-4.30:
- "log snapshot SLC" command added. This command retrieves the logs from the local SLC and all HBCs found .Available to users: root, advsrv, mfg, eng, remote, service and test.
- Corrected the issue with drive bays discovering ADI drives after multiple drive insertions or drive reboots.
- The tape insertion velocity used by the hand for HP drives has been reduced to lower the risk of breaking the drive bezels. (fix will also be in SL8500 FRS-8.36 when released next month).
Refer to the attached file for 4.31 Release Notes.
