REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Disk problem of Netra CP32x0 (3220/3250/3260/3270) blade.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

1.  Access to the blade if still accessible
2.  Unmount any file systems using the HD
3.  Located the drive to be replaced

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:

0) Preparation --- performed by customer

A.  Ensure all file systems are unmounted using the disk driver

1) Remove disk drive

A. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
B. Locate the drive to be replaced.  If a drive is faulty, the amber fault LED will light.
C. Press the button on the face of the HD to release the latch.  The latch springs open.
D. Grab the latch and remove the HD from the drive bay.
E. If the slot is to remain empty, install a filler panel in the slot.

2) Install disk drive

A. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
B. Open the HD latch by pressing the button on the face of the drive.
C. Insert the drive into the appropriate drive bay until the latch closes and the drive fully engages with the connectors.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:

A. For hot plug, configure the drive and verify drive availability.
    Use appropriate software commands to re-activate/re-sync mirror if manual intervention is required.

B. Reconfigure disk as previously configured. e.g. Part of raid volume set or mounted file-system or raw partition or other. Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
