How to fix the following error:

"Agent KWK not registered'
 

Solution

This message was observed after a KMA reboot.

After reviewing the OKM Event Logs we see the message  "Agent KWK not registered Warning".  This is OK.

Due to KMA reboot the KMA has to register agent's KWK, and agents have to provide a new KWK and this happened:

e.g. agent LTO2 provided a new key to KMA01 (Get Agent KWK Public Key)
and the key has been registered (Register Agent KWK Success)
and activated (Key Activated Success).

The message "Agent KWK not registered Warning" is a one time message after KMA reboot.

This is just a warning message and your action is not required.    

The only issue observed is that the part of the warning message suggesting the following fix:
" Reason = Agent Key Wrapping Key is not registered Register or re-register the Agent's Key-Wrapping Key by either setting the Agent's passphrase or IPLing the associated tape drive"

That fix really is not required.

Agent generates and stores a key to be used as wrapping key for encryption keys.  The Agent KWK will be registered/re-registered by setting the Agent's passphrase or IPLing the associated tape drive.

In the presented issue even the message is suggesting incorrect action "setting the Agent's passphrase or IPLing the associated tape drive", instead of "no action is required".
