Goal


Configure DIH NSP server to send SNMP traps.


Solution


To get the SNMP to work on DIH, two procedures must be executed.


Configure traps destination


Steps to configure SNMP Forwarding on NSP platcfg:


    

  1. Login into NSP as "platcfg"
    2. 

  2. Menu options: Network Configuration -> SNMP Configuartion -> NMS Configuration ->
    3. 

  3. Edit configuration:

      

    • Enter NMS Server IP Address
      • 

    • Enter Port
      • 

    • Enter Community String
      • 

    

    4. 

  4. Exit out of platcfg
    5. 



Configure which alarm to forward


Steps to configure SNMP Forwarding on NSP GUI:


    

  1. Goto Alarm Forwarding on GUI
    2. 

  2. Create new rule to send SNMP traps.
    3. 



MIB file can be found on NSP: /opt/nsp/nsp-package/forwarding/target/misc/NSP-FORWARDING-MIB
