Goal

Question 1 - How to backup and restore Brocade Fibre Channel (FC) Switch configuration?

Question 2 - Any way to restore configuration on a fc switch that is not in a fabric (ie other fc switches connected to it) without a backup?

Solution

Answer 1

- Determine the version of Fabric Operating System (FOS) on the Brocade FC Switch.

- See doc   Accessing Brocade Fibre Channel (FC) Switch Documentation (Doc ID 1917430.1)

Pull up Fabric Operating System(FOS) related documentation

Select and open pdf file for the "Fabric OS Administrator's Guide (do not confuse with other admin manuals) manual.

Look for Configuration file backup and Configuration file restoration sections.

Answer 2

- No, configuration will need to be restored manually.

- If a switch that is part of a fabric dies and is replaced the configuration will automatically be transferred to it from other switch in fabic when it is joined to the fabric.
