Goal

Does Sun Datacenter Switch 36 support the IBTA-compliance speed negotiation on Exadata
 

Solution

The Sun Infiniband Switch 36 is an IBTA 1.2 compliant switch. Refer to the data sheet

The IB switches do support speed negotiation but we strongly discourage customers from attaching slow speed devices to the IB fabric. Ideally we should have all devices and switches at same speed (highest) i.e. 4X QDR or 40Gbps.
