When a cartridge is found in a system cell, move a cartridge from system cell to CAP In this Document
Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. Robot reset with cartridge in hand positions cartridge in system cell and sometimes it will not be moved to destination or returned to source. Cartridge is than not reachable for HLI application (ACSLS/HSC) GoalRegain access of cartridge to HLI application (ACSLS/HSC). SolutionMove cartridge from system cell via SLC (SL-Console) using RecvrMove to the CAP and re-enter the cartridge(s). - Start SL-Console. - Select Diagnostics Menu. - In Diagnostics window select RecvrMove tab. - Select “Location” radio button under Mode. On the left side of the RecvrMove tab select as source location “System Slots” from the pull-down and enter the appropriate location(s) where the cartridge resides. The location can be found in the Cartridge Table report. (For details see attached PDF document "Move cartridge from system cell via SLC"). - Click on the Start button (on the top right side). Once all cartridges have been moved from the System Cells to the Cap, the Cap will need to be unlocked in order to be able to open the CAP and remove the cartridges from the CAP. To unlock the CAP, you need to open the CAP folder on the right side and select the corresponding CAP. Change the Locked value from “true” to “false” and click on “Apply” at the top right corner. Once this is completed the CAP can be opened by pushing the OPEN soft switch button at the Operator panel and cartridge(s) can be removed.
After the CAP has been closed again a “enter command via HLI (ACSLS/HSC) can be performed and the cartridges can be found again by the HLI application. Note: It is recommended to perform a SW audit (ACSL/HSC) to make sure that there is no mismatch between SL8500 and ACSL/HSC cartridge database . Attachments This solution has no attachment |
