StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

They have tried to configure it by verifying the following procedure from this link : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35103_07/en/E28647/html/chapter_4.htm#i1127840. However, they didn't see option for changing.
They would like to know whether they need to reset the library to factory default and then configure ?
"SL150 Base module with 5 expansion modules."

Goal

Customer wants to enable the 19 slot "expanded mailslot" on their SL150 tape library, current mode is "Standard(4 slots).  They want to change the mode from "Standard(4 slots) to "Expanded(19 slots)".

Solution

The initial config wizard is just one of the ways to configure the "Expanded Mailslot" feature.

If the customer has already done the initial config wizard and thus has everything configured and can connect with the Web GUI then they would use the "Configuration Wizard" on the Web GUI of the SL150.

To do this they would do the following:

1.  Click on the "Configuration" button from the main menu on the left hand side of the main page
2.  At the top of the configuration page click on the "Configure" link at the top of the page towards the left
3.  This will bring up a pop up window and they need to check the "Configure Library Settings" box and click "Next"
4.  From the "Mailslot Configuration:" drop down they need to select the "Expanded Mailslot (19 slots)" option and then click "Next"
5.  It will then go to a Summary page for the changes that were selected.  They need to verify that everything is correct and then check the "Accept all changes" box in the bottom right corner and then click on "Apply"

They need to be running 2.25 or higher firmware on their library.

This procedure is covered in the SL150 user's guide and also in the Web GUI help.

NOTE: (10-Feb-2015)

Prior to running the Configuration change, all drives MUST be unloaded.  Failure to do this step will show an error stating, "All tape drives must to be unloaded prior to Partiton changes."

No Data cartridges can be located in the "right hand" magazine of Module 1 at the time of mailslot expansion.
