Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The 1.6TB Solid State Drive (SSD) replacements are shipped with 2 different mounting brackets in what is referred to as a "Common Kit".  By default, the spare will come with the Marlin style bracket which is incompatible with the FS1-2 Flash Storage System.  Before attempting replacement, you will need to replace it with the Evo style bracket which is compatible with the FS1-2 Flash Storage System.

Solution

Swapping the mounting brackets on a 1.6TB SSD:

  1. Remove the four screws that hold the existing Marlin style mounting bracket from the SSD.
  2. Remove the SSD from the Marlin style mounting bracket.
  3. Install the SSD into the Evo style bracket.
  4. Use the 4 of the 5 new screws supplied with the Common Kit to secure the Evo mounting to the SSD.

NOTE: Do NOT use the original screws.
