Goal
What is the procedure to change the Management IP in OKM 2.x and 3.x?
Solution
Connect to the KMA Console via the ELOM console redirection feature.
1. Login as Security Officer.
2. Select the menu choice to configure the KMA Management IP address.
3. The KMA will respond with current IP address settings.
Please note these down for your record.
4. The KMA will prompt to enable or disable IPv6 and DHCP.
If DHCP is disabled, the KMA will also prompt for the KMA IP address and subnet mask.
5. Respond to each prompt in turn. You are responsible for making sure the network configuration for the KMA will support all external IPs and hostnames
(e.g. values returned by a configured DHCP server, a customer supplied NTP server, and SNMP Managers; and supporting IPv6 where applicable)
6. The KMA will prompt for confirmation before applying the IP address settings.
7. Upon confirmation, the KMA will save the provided information. Any changes will take effect immediately. The new management network IP address and
IPv6 address (if configured and if the Current Replication Version is 10 or higher) will be updated in the cluster's record of IP addresses.
8. Any changes may affect router configuration or DNS configuration.
( Please take this into consideration prior to making the changes.)
Note: If the new IP address is on another subnet or when the IP change occurs during a network outage, please read the Caution note in "Setting the KMA Management IP Address"
of the OKM 3.x Admin Guide (PDF page 232).
To avoid problems when changing the OKM management IP addresses, make the changes in each KMA one at a time. Wait until the keys are replicated in one KMA before starting with the change on the other KMA.
