Goal

How to make Qlogic FC HBA (PEM) visible at BIOS level on x6540 servers?

Solution

PCIe Express Module Option ROM is Disabled by Default (Bug 15424236 - SunBug 6606356)

To boot from a PCIe Express Module, enable the PCIe Express Module option ROM in the BIOS. Use the following steps:
1. During system startup, press F2 to change BIOS settings.
  The BIOS main menu appears.
2. Navigate to Boot -> Boot Settings Configuration.
3. Select Enable PEM 0/1 FUN* Option ROM.
