Goal

Can Linux 5.8 "iptraf" package be installed for monitoring throughput performance during TimesTen data copy?

Is this a supported package for Linux 5.8 on Exalytics Patchset (PS) 4?
If yes, how can it be obtained?

Solution

The iptraf package is not shipped automatically with Exalytics PS4, but Exalytics Product Management (PM) has confirmed there should be no issues with using it.  Since it is not part of the default installation for the PS4 image, you will need to maintain the package (i.e. manage updates).

The iptraf package is supported with Linux 5.8 and the compatible one for Exalytics PS4 is: iptraf-3.0.0-5.el5.0.1.x86_64.rpm.

You may obtain the compatible package by visiting the oracle public-yum channel and then searching for iptraf-3.0.0-5.el5.0.1.x86_64.rpm.
