 Is it possible to install Auto Service Request (ASR) on Exalytics machines with Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) installed?

Solution

Currently, ASR is only available on Exalytics non-virtualized servers (also referred to as "bare-metal servers").  Enhancement Request <Bug 24956030> - ENH: PROVIDE ASR FOR OVM SERVERS was filed to formally request this feature in a future Exalytics patchset.

Exalytics Product Management confirmed that ASR for OVM environments is on the Exalytics product roadmap but there is no estimated timeline for when this feature may be available.
