FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
SL3000 tape library fan failure will be displayed on the SL Console under Tools > Library > Status > Status Module

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
To remove and replace in a ECM BASE FAN module assembly in StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System

Fan Tray Assembly
The fan tray assembly is located at the rear of the base module.
Refer to FIGURE 1-5 Chapter 1 Page 11 in StorageTek SL3000 Service Manual.
Fan Tray Assembly Removal

To remove the assembly:
1. Open the rear doors of the base module.
2. Loosen the green thumbscrews that hold the assmebly in place,
3. Pull out the assembly.

Fan Tray Assembly Replacement:
To replace the fan assembly:
1. Insert the new fan tray assembly and tighten the thumb screws.
2. Verify that the fans are working and that the fault LED is OFF.
