Created from <SR 3-8759882447> Applies to:Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 36 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Hardware - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalCustomer found CABLE_CONN_STAT error in messages during the firmware upgrade to 2.1.3-4.
SolutionCollect an ILOM snapshot (Note 1062544.1) from the InfiniBand Switch and check if shows faulty. If there are no faults then run the below commands and check if the Environment test PASSED and switch is healthy: # env_test
# showunhealthy # sminfo # getmaster If there is no indication of fault visible in env_test or in showunhealthy output , the sensor CABLE_CONN_STAT is not a problem and can be safely ignored. These error messages may be generated during the upgrade of Firmware version to 2.1.3-4. These messages are reported due to restart of services envd in following (which happens during a firmware upgrade). These messages can safely be ignored. Please note this document actually covers 2 possible scenarios for false alarms against /SYS/CABLE_CONN_STAT: Newer IB switch firmware versions, such as v2.1.4-1 or v2.1.5-1, no longer exhibit this behavior.
