GoalIs "kdump" pre-configured (by default) on Oracle Exalytics Systems? SolutionThe "kdump" utility is not enabled, by default in Exalytics systems. You can verify kdump state on your server by logging in as root and running the command: # system-config-kdump
By default, you will see: If you wish to enable kdump, please refer to <Note 452067.1> - How to Configure "kdump" on Oracle Linux 5. NOTE: <Note 452067.1> recommends installing kexec-tools if not already installed. Typically kexec-tools is installed on an Exalytics server and your version may be kexec-tools-1.102pre-96.1.1.el5_5.2 (or higher). You may confirm that the tools are installed by running the following command as "root" user:
[root@eyorl02cn01 ~]# rpm -qa | grep kexec-tools
kexec-tools-1.102pre-96.1.1.el5_5.2 This is applicable only for bare metal installation. If you are using Virtual Machine (VM), Please refer the below notes:
