Goal

Network Config Clear Command Introduced in FRS-8.35 Code.

Solution

During some installation, recovery, relocation or reconfiguration work it is easier to start from an empty configuration than to go through all the steps necessary to back out the current networking settings.  With FRS-8.35 and higher codes the command "network config clear" may be used to reset the network configuration.  See the information below taken from the StorageTek Command Line Interface Guide for SL8500 and SL3000 February 2014 edition.

network config clear

Note –
Currently, for SL8500 version 8.35 and higher firmware only.
This command clears all network configurations that are user-configurable. The following occurs for the public network interfaces (eth0 and eth5):
• Set the link states to “down”.
• Set the interface IPv4 address to 10.10.0.1/24.
• Disable policy routing.
• Remove all static routes (including static policy routes).
The following system-wide configurations are also cleared:
• Hostname
• Disable ILC
• Default router

This is a very useful command but please use with care.
