Goal

How to Obtain the Management Information Base / MIB data from SL8500 & SL3000.

Solution

Management Information Base/ MIB is used to enable SNMP trap.

Note:

The MIB can be downloaded through the SL Console, but cannot viewed directly from SL Console. The MIB is a plain ASCII text file that can be viewed from any text editor.

Here are the steps to Download MIB file :

1. Log in to the SL console of the Tape library.

2. At the StorageTek Library Console, select Tools > Diagnostics.

3. Click the Library folder on the navigation tree.
The Library page appears.

4. Click the TransferFile tab.

The "Library TransferFile" page appears. Select SNMP MIB.

Click Transfer File.

The Save dialog box appears.

5. Browse to the directory where the file is to be saved and enter the file name in the "File Name" field. Be sure to give it a .txt suffix.

6. Click Save.

The data is saved to the specified file, and the Transferred Successful message appears.
