Library Audit Notification

Goal

 To confirm library physical audit completed.

Solution

Using SLConsole.

Log into the designated library.

Open a "monitor all" session (goto Tools > Monitors > Permanent Monitors > All).

Select "Open" button.

Monitor for "AuditDaemon" messages.... see below:

2014-02-22T15:40:26.576 1,1,0,2,0 root default AuditDaemon -106 trace 3952 From device Data=<response sequence="819133" final="false"><command>audit</command><result identifier="1"><resultStatus><resultSeverity>info</resultSeverity><resultCode>0000</resultCode><resultText><!|CDATA|End of Text||></resultText><operationalState>000</operationalState></resultStatus><addressStatus>empty</addressStatus><address>1,1,-18,2,50</address><label><!|CDATA|||></label></result></response>

2014-02-22T15:40:26.605 1,1,0,2,0 root default AuditDaemon -106 trace 3952 From device Data=<response sequence="819133" final="false"><command>audit</command><result identifier="1"><resultStatus><resultSeverity>info</resultSeverity><resultCode>0000</resultCode><resultText><!|CDATA|End of Text||></resultText><operationalState>000</operationalState></resultStatus><addressStatus>empty</addressStatus><address>1,1,-18,2,51</address><label><!|CDATA|||></label></result></response>

2014-02-22T15:40:26.634 1,1,0,2,0 root default AuditDaemon -106 trace 3952 From device Data=<response sequence="819133" final="true"><command>audit</command><result identifier="1"><resultStatus><resultSeverity>info</resultSeverity><resultCode>0000</resultCode><resultText><!|CDATA|End of Text||></resultText><operationalState>000</operationalState></resultStatus><addressStatus>empty</addressStatus><address>1,1,-18,2,52</address><label><!|CDATA|||></label></result></response>

When messages stops, physical audit is complete. No "Audit Completed" message will be displayed.

Note: Since audit may take some time, best to capture log to a file (In Monitor session, select Spool File > Start Spooling).
