The drive power setting is highlighted.

   f. Press the Up or Down buttons to change the current setting.

   g. When the OFF setting is displayed, press Select.

   h. Press Back to save the change and return to the Quick View Menu screen.

3. Pull the SCSI sub-plate handle to disconnect the SCSI sub-plate from the drive.

4. Use a flat-blade screwdrive to loosen the tape drive thumbscrew.

5. Pull the tape drive out of the library, using the left side of the tape drive as a handle.

To install the new tape drive:

1. Unpack the new tape drive.

Save the packaging, you will need it to repackage the faulty tape drive.

2. Remove the SCSI sub-plate from the new tape drive.

   a. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to loosen the 2 thumbscrews on the SCSI sub-plate.

   b. Pull the SCSI sub-plate handle to disconnect the SCSI sup-plate from the drive.

   c. Save the SCSI sub-plate.

The host detects the presence of the tape drive automatically.

7. Return power to the drive by setting the Drive Power option to ON.

8. Ensure that the drive LED on the back of the drive canister illuminates.

9. If the host does not detect the presence of the tape drive, check the drive SCSI ID.  If the drive SCSI is:

    - Valid, the tape drive may be defective.

    - Invalid, the SCSI sub-plate has failed and needs to be replaced.

10. Use a host SCSI program to check the data transfer performance of the drive.

11. Package the faulty tape drive using the packaging from the new tape drive and send it back to logistics.
