Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1617049.1 : Does VTCS Have The Ability To Display The Current Code Level For The VTSS Box?
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-8426658071> Applies to:Sun StorageTek Enterprise Library Software (ELS) - Version 7.0 and laterSun StorageTek Virtual Tape Control Software (VTCS) - Version 6.1 and later Sun StorageTek VSM System - Version 5 and later IBM z/OS on System z GoalIs there a VTCS command that can be used to find the microcode/firmware level for a VSM? SolutionThere is no VTCS command that will display the VTSS micro code level. The closest command would be the Display VTSS DETail (D VTSS DET) which will show the VSM type (VSM5, VSM6) and the features supported by that VSM, but does not include the microcode level. An Oracle FE will need to access the VTSS and provide that information. Some customer locations also have the ability for Oracle Support to remotely access the VTSS. The following is an example from the D VTSS DET output: Vtss Type Supported features
VTSS10 Unknown 800MB VTVs VTSS11 VSM5 Replication 800MB VTVs NOWAIT on RTD mount Buddy queuing 2/4GB VTVs Large page VTVs Sync replicate Last use hint MGMT class on MVC Connect to 32 RTDs Stacked migrates Write New VOL1 label Concurrent port I/O Many-to-many connect IP Replication Partitioned RTDs T10KC Partition RTDs Concurrent tape recall/mount *disabled Concurrent disk recall/mount *disabled Streaming migrates RTC VTV data verification
