How to replace the power supply on an Acme Packet Net-Net 2620

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

This task relates to service of an ACME PACKET product. Parts specified in this task should be delivered using a cost effective next day delivery method, and may require to be back ordered from a Tier 1 location. The Planned End Date should be set to a time on the second business day to enable this, unless specific instructions from the TSC engineer indicate otherwise.

Acme Packet 2600 Training.

Note: #2 Philips is required

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:

Acme Packet 2620 Power Supply Replacement

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a prerequisite, but is a wise precaution.

The power supplies are hot swappable, therefore this can be done without powering the system down.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Remove the Power Supply from the system

  1. Remove the power cable from the Power Supply unit that is being replaced.
  2. Depress the Green lever and slide the power supply unit out of the system.

Install the new Power Supply

  1. Make sure that the connector is located to the bottom and slide the power supply in until it "clicks".
  2. Be sure that the power supply is secure.
  3. Make sure that the green lever is returned to the right to secure the power supply.
  4. Reconnect the power cable and verify that the power supply is returned to service. The LED should turn solid GREEN to indicate proper operation.
