Goal

Customer's security audit found untrusted SSL certificate for port 8083 and would like to disable port.

Solution

The 8083 port is the WebCLI, which can be disabled with axiomcli.

The CLI command for that is:

  axiomcli webcli –disable

The WebCLI ports (8083) can be disabled as long as no “app integrations” such as DPM, storage connect, etc are not running.
Only the customer would be able to know this but applications which use the webcli tend to be rather prominent, so it is likely that it is not being used.

However if does turn out to be a monitoring application using webcli, it is simple to turn it back on with:

axiomcli  webcli –enable
