How to replace a hard drive on a Acme Packet 26xx

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Acme Packet 26xx hard drive replacement

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a prerequisite, but is a wise precaution. Hard Drive replacment on the NN 2620 can be done while the system is operating. If possible, the customer should perform an orderly and graceful shutdown of applications, OS and power off the server. However, this is not required.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

1. Prepare the server for service.

1. Hard drive are hot-swappable and located behind the front bezel
2. Remove the front bezel
3. Depress the "Green" tab on the front of the hard drive mounting bracket
4. Pull out on the black lever and then slide the carrier fron the chassis
5. Place hard drive on anti-static pad/workbench
6. Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the carrier (2 on each side)
7. Remove failed HDD and place on anti-static mat
8.   
   • Hard drives do not include a mounting bracket, you will need to swap mounting brackets 
    

2: Install replacement hard drive. Position the connector end of the drive so that it is facing the rear of the drive carrier

 a: Install the four mounting screws

B: With the black lever in the fully open position, slide the drive assembly into the chassis bay

C: Once the black lever begins to close by itself, push on it to lock the drive assembly in place
