Goal

This document is helpful when you are facing an issue trying to turn on the locator LED using the locator LED/button and it doesn't work gracefully.
Using the ALOM4v command 'setlocator on/off' it works fine.

Solution

1. Firstly, check if the locator LED/button at both sides of the equipment is not stuck. This may prevent the button to turn on the LED.

2. If it is released, check which side is presenting the issue. Replace the parts accordingly:

    2.1 If only the front locator LED/button is not working:

          2.1.1 Firstly replace LED/Switch Board;

          2.1.2 If not solved, replace Front I/O Board w/Cover Interlock Switch and Cable Kit.

    2.2 If only the rear locator LED/button is not working, replace System Board;

    2.3 If both sides are not working, replace System Board.

3. Recommended Action:

Open a service request by one of the following methods:

Use My Oracle Support to open the service request using active CSI# for the system.

Call Oracle directly using 1-800-223-1711 and follow prompts to open the service request
