FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Power Supply Replacement
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
Single power supply failures can be serviced while the system is in a production state.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:
1. Prepare the server for service.
Ensure the power switch is turned to the "off" position before attempting to remove the power supply. Failure to turn off the power supply’s switch before insertion or removal may damage the system.
- Ground yourself using the appropriate ESD grounding equipment, wrist or heel strap is recommended.
- Disconnect the power cord from the failed power supply.
2. Removing power supply
- Turn the locking screw fully counter clockwise to unlock the power supply from the chassis. This may require 4-6 full turns.
- Hold the removal handle and gently pull the power supply out of the power supply bay.
- Continue to pull the power supply all the way out of the chassis until you have completely removed it.
3 Replacing power supply
- Slide replacement power supply into power supply bay opening until it engages with the rear connector.
- Turn the locking screw clockwise until snug. This will ensure the power supply is securely attached to the chassis.
4. Restoring power
- Re-install the AC/DC power cord
- Place the power supply switch to the "On" position.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:
Be sure that the system powers up and the LEDs are Green/On.
