WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:
Sun Netra Server X3-2 Server Training.

Note: Removing a power supply is a hot-swap operation. You do not need to power off the server before you remove the power supply.

TIME ESTIMATE: 15 minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 3-FRU

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

You do not need to power off the server before you remove the power supply

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Determine which power supply to remove.

2. Disconnect the power cord from the power supply.

3. Press the release tab to the left and pull on the handle.

4. Continue to pull on the handle to slide the power supply out of the chassis.

5. Set the power supply aside.

Installing Power Supply Unit

1. Align the power supply to the location where it installs into the chassis.

2. Confirm the release levers of the slot where you are installing the DIMM are OPEN.

3. Slide the power supply into the chassis until the power supply seats and the release tab clicks.

4. Attach the power cord.

 

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Boot up system and verify full functionality
