FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Server has two power supply redundancy. The server can remain running if replacing only one power supply. If, not Customer should shut the operating system down gracefully (using "init 0").

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

The server’s redundant hot-swappable power supplies enable you to remove and replace one or two power supplies without shutting the server down, provided that the other power supplies are online and working.
If a power supply fails and you do not have a replacement available, leave the failed power supply installed to ensure proper air flow in the server.

Step I: Remove a Power Supply

1. Identify which power supply requires replacement. A lighted amber indicator on a power supply indicates that a failure was detected.

2. Disconnect the power cord from the faulty power supply.

3. Grasp the power supply handle, and push the power supply latch to the right.

4. Pull the power supply out of the chassis.

Step II: Install a Power Supply

1. Remove the replacement power supply from its packaging, and place the power supply on an antistatic mat.

2. Slide the power supply into bay until it is fully seated.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the power supply.

4. Verify that the amber indicator on the replaced power supply and that the Service Required Indicators are not lit.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
