Acme Packet 4500 - Version S-Cx6.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How licenses are used with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) sessions.

Solution

The Session Director (SD) counts sessions in SIP based on out-of-dialog INVITE transaction.

The amount of media streams a single session contains does not relate to the license count.

If an in-dialog SIP session has multiple media streams, it is still considered as one Session, hence only one license is used by this session.
