How and where to get ZFSSA MIB files ?

Solution

The SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) service provides two different functions on the appliance:

• Appliance status information can be served by SNMP.   See MIBs (below).
• Alerts can be configured to send SNMP traps.

If the SNMP service is online, authorized networks will have access to the following MIBs in the ZFS Storage Appliance:

• SUN-MIB.mib

• SUN-FM-MIB.mib
  • Active problems on the system
  • Fault Manager events
  • Fault Manager configuration information

• SUN-AK-MIB.mib
  • Product description string and part number
  • Appliance software version
  • Appliance and chassis serial numbers
  • Install, update and boot times
  • Cluster state
  • Share status - share name, size, used and available bytes

You may download these MIBs from the built-in wiki of your NAS appliance.

From the AK firmware release of OS 8.6.5 (AK-2013.06.5.6.5), the above wiki link redirects to the dashboard
of the appliance rather a download link as https://<Appliance-IP-Address>:215/help/en/html/ZFSRC/goosj.html

This has been addressed via an oracle internal bug and fix had been incorporated into the AK firmware OS 8.6.9 (ak-2013.06.05.6.9).
This firmware is not released in MOS. Customer may upgrade to the next Minor release (after OS 8.6.9) or Later when available in MOS.
